Our Story
This is Our Heritage. This is Our Purpose. This is Melibloom.

A Legacy Rooted in Tradition
The story of MeliBloom begins in the 1850s with Alonzo Foster, a quiet pioneer whose connection to the land and respect for the honeybee became the spark that ignited a legacy. Though his hands tended the first hives with little fanfare, Alonzo's commitment to stewardship, sustainability, and reverence for nature laid the foundation for what would become a generational calling.
That legacy came into full bloom through Howard and Eva Foster, whose dedication not only preserved the family tradition — it helped shape the modern beekeeping industry itself. Howard was known for his innovation, leadership, and influence among commercial beekeepers across the country. Eva worked tirelessly beside him, not just supporting the family operation but helping build it into a respected name among beekeepers nationwide.

Building an Industry
Together, Howard and Eva transformed a family practice into something extraordinary — earning the admiration of a growing industry while inspiring generations within their own family to carry the torch.
Through their leadership in commercial beekeeping associations and their commitment to sustainable practices, the Foster name became synonymous with quality and innovation. Their influence extended far beyond their own apiaries, as they mentored countless beekeepers and helped establish standards that would guide the industry for decades to come.

Generations United
Alonzo started with a few hives in the 1850s, and Howard and Eva took that foundation and built a respected commercial operation. Their son Jim spent his career learning from them and keeping the business going strong. Eric followed the same path, and now his brother Gabe is bringing his own ideas while staying true to what works. Each generation has learned something new and passed it along to the next. From understanding their behavior, knowing what conditions they need, and figuring out the best methods through experience, it's the kind of practical knowledge that comes from years of working with bees you won't find in a textbook or couse anywhere.

Continuing the Journey
Today, MeliBloom exists because of their legacy. Committed to honoring tradition while embracing innovation, we continue the work that began over 170 years ago.
This isn't just a business — it's a calling that has been passed down through generations. Every jar of honey, every scoop of pollen represents five generations of dedication, knowledge, and love for the craft of beekeeping.
